AAAAGGGHHH!
That is my usual response to photos of me. I do try to make an effort to be in photos so that my daughter will know I was around and participated in her life. Most of those photos consist of me holding the camera out, doing my best to aim, and press a button hoping for the best. I have on occasion set the camera down and set the timer in an effort to get into a shot. Sometimes that works.
This is a bit late, but last Friday the forum discussions I’ve been following was on self portraits, how to do them and why they are important. As a mom, I think it is important for preservation sake. As a blogger, it is important to let your reader know who you are.
This past weekend was busy with family in town. But I tried to get a couple shots in.
Actually these are from earlier last week, I went out into the field with my girl and snapped a couple…
While out with my brother and his family on Monday I snagged this shot…a little more of a creative self portrait I suppose. And no, I’m not a burly man But I thought the reflection in his glasses was cool…
And I think I posted this photo some time last year, but it’s one of my favs…
Should you care to read my needs-to-be-updated about me page and see a photo just click here. That was actually a film scan taken with my fisheye lomo camera.
I guess for some folks self portraits can be tough. Like I said, I’m not a fan of my image on the other side of the lens. But for history sake I think it’s important to be included.
So get your tripod, set your timer, go out, and get snappy with your bad self!
